Also great fall rafting starts Sept-Oct on the World Class Gauley River. The Lower Gauley is perfect for ages 14 and older and is home to HUGE waves and great hydraulic surfs. Also "not for the faint of heart" is the Upper Gauley for ages 16 and older. This section includes the infamous "Big Five" rapids, Insignificant, Lost Paddle, Iron Ring, Pillow Rock and Sweets Falls.
